What: Like donuts? Interested in meeting other early literacy advocates? Help support Colorado families reading together and get a book into the hand of every 4-year old by volunteering at One Book 4 Colorado! Help with counting, packaging, stickering, and labeling OB4CO books and bookmarks. Consider dropping a donation box off at a nearby preschool!

Lyon County History Center
What: The Lyon County History Center is hosting an event for the Cubs Scouts (kindergarten – 5th grade). Volunteers are need to help with: a talk on preservation and retirement of flags; a scavenger hunt; and personal history which is a talk on easy information available in the archives (yearbooks, telephone books, newspapers)!
When: Friday, April 7th from 6-8pm

Star Wars: The Force Awakens
What: We need your help! SLIM is partnering with the Emporia Public Library (in Emporia) on May 4th for a viewing of ‘Star Wars – The Force Awakens’ at the Granada Theatre. We are planning a costume contest for which we will need an emcee and judges, as well as a children’s table to construct origami yoda’s based on the children’s book.
When: Thursday, May 4th. Activities from 6-7pm; movie from 7-9:15pm.
What: Learn how to advocate for and serve your Latino/Hispanic and Spanish-speaking populations! Volunteer for a short shift and get to attend the rest of the REFORMA Colorado 2017 Conference for free. Spots will fill up fast, so sign up soon!
