SCALA will be hosting an Interview and Resume Workshop in Emporia on Saturday, April 11th. There will be a panel discussion in the morning featuring public, academic, and special librarians as well as archival professionals. They will give tips on how to create a good first impression, how to dress, and other crucial tips to land your dream job. In the afternoon, a short session on resume building will be followed by break-out sessions where students can get more information about interviewing for specific library types (public, academic, and archives) as well as get individual resume help.
Cost of the workshop is $5 which will cover travel expenses for our speakers and the cost of lunch. Registration will remain open until the day of the workshop. We would like to have 15-20 in-person participants to make the experience worthwhile for our speakers.
If you are unable to attend in-person, we will be recording the panel discussions and resume building session and posting them on our blog and Facebook page.
